Marco Balsamo is an emerging powerhouse in animation, cofounding Film Launchpad and RIVA Studios, serving as COO for both sister companies, while also serving as the Chief Creative Officer for the largest animation studio in Southeast Asia. He is also a filmmaker with an innate passion for telling meaningful stories that champion the human spirit.
Marco is the youngest individual to have a sole feature film writing credit on Netflix with his action-thriller, The Brave, written and produced when he was just 23 years old. The film went on to be #1 in the box office in CIS countries for 3 consecutive weeks upon theatrical release. Currently, Marco is directing a live action sports drama entitled Forza (in collaboration with soccer giants AC Milan) and the animated fantasy-adventure Akira’s Flying Wheelchair, inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli. He also serves as a creative consultant for major production and streaming companies such as Toei Animation, Netflix, Wayfarer, and is collaborating with leading international content providers on several high profile feature films and television series.
Additionally, Marco is an avid soccer fan and serves as the Executive Director of FA Euro New York, a 501(c)(3) non-profit soccer club organization he cofounded in 2013 which currently serves over 1,000 members in New York and who are the only club in Brooklyn that hold an MLS Next, USL W League and League Two Franchise.
