Information such as dietary restrictions and other trip preferences are for our trip planning use only and will not be shared with anyone including in-country hosts or sponsors, unless those hosts or sponsors require such information for trip planning purposes.

  • Networking: To facilitate networking opportunities between attendees, sponsors, and hosts, including through attendee directories.

  • Marketing: With your consent, to send you information about future tours, meetups, and opportunities that may be of interest to you.

  • Media Use: Photos, videos, and recordings may be used for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media, and other marketing materials.

Photography and Marketing Materials

  • We may capture photos, videos, and audio recordings during the tour or event, which may include your image, voice, or likeness.

  • By participating in our events, you agree that, unless specifically requested otherwise, 42Geeks has permission to use your name and image on our website and in any and all marketing materials related to the event for promotional purposes, including, but not limited to, advertising for event participation, showcasing event highlights, creating awareness about 42Geeks as a brand and company, and showcasing event participants. 

  • This includes, but is not limited to, use in print, online, social media, and other digital platforms, without further notification or compensation. 

  • The permission granted herein is perpetual, meaning it will not expire and can be used by 42Geeks at any time.

  • You may revoke this consent at any time by providing written notice to 42Geeks. However, such revocation will not apply to any marketing or promotional materials already in use or published at the time of revocation.


Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. However, we may share your information with:

  • Other Event Participants: For our community building and networking efforts, we may share your information with other event attendees or past event attendees (“Geeks” who have attended past tours).

  • As Required by Law: When required by law, we may disclose your information to comply with legal processes or to protect our rights.

  • Event Partners or Sponsors: Trusted third parties who assist in organizing and managing the event, such as event platforms, venus partners, and sponsors.

    • 42Geeks organizes the global geeks tour in partnership and collaboration with our local hosts, sponsors, and partners around the world. In order for us to support many of our events during the tour, we do receive sponsorship from companies, governments, and non-profits. These sponsorships allow us to pay for a part of the venue, catering, and staff costs. Sponsorships also allow us to invite many local entrepreneurs, investors, government officials, and ecosystem builders to attend our events for free and make our tour more impactful on the local ecosystem.

    • In exchange for this sponsorship, we are usually required by sponsors to share your contact information, so they could share news and offers with all participants. You may unsubscribe from receiving news and offers from sponsors at any time by following the instructions in the communications received.

    • Sponsors also include local hosts and partners that provide their time, services, venue, or catering in-lieu of cash.


Payment Processing

We use trusted websites such as Stripe, PayPal, and Venmo for all of our payment processing. These platforms may collect billing information from you as a part of that payment transaction for 42Geeks tours, events, and products.
