Mr. Thinh Nguyen (Nguyễn Ngọc Thịnh) has worked in the software development industry for over 30 years in the US specializing in rapid development of enterprise and telecommunication networks management systems (NMS). From 1999 until 2002, he joined the management team at Xros to develop the Network Management System for a state-of-the-art Photonic Switch. Xros became a part of Nortel Networks in a multi-billion dollars acquisition in March 2000. He relocated to Vietnam in the summer of 2002 and started Pyramid Software Development (PSD) in Quang Trung Software City in Saigon and sold it in 2010. He still lives in HCMC, Vietnam as an entrepreneur in the high-tech industry working with companies in Vietnam today in areas such as web/mobile application, embedded software, integrated circuit design, and PCB manufacturing. He founded the Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce Vietnam in 2004 and served as the committee Chairman until 2006. He also serves as a technical advisor for the Military Technical Academy in Hanoi. Thinh left Vietnam in April 1975 and is a graduate of the University of New Orleans with a BS degree in Computer Science.
Thinh has participated in many non-profit projects in Vietnam since 1990 in diverse areas such as medical, education, and cultural. He has worked with pioneer NGOs working in Vietnam in the 90s like VNHELP, East Meets West, Project Vietnam, etc. He is currently on the Board of Advisors of VA-NGO Network (www.va-ngo.org) as well as Pacific Links Foundation (www.pacificlinks.org).
